We all have a why. Why it is we do what we do. I try to sum up my why here with this blog post ~ giving you, the reader a little more into the human behind Skeinsnsticks Designs - into my mindset, only just a few short months ago:
Just breathe, put one foot in front of the other and...JUMP! That idea you've had in the back of your mind, that thing you think you should do but are too afraid to verbalize, let alone actually take any sort of action to realize, DO IT! Yes, it will be hard. Yes, you will want to quit. Yes, you will feel more than inadequate. BUT, you will also love every minute and that's how you know, you'll know where your passion resides. What's the saying? "Do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life!" Yes, that one - do you believe it?
This picture ~ it is so pretty and calming. Taken earlier this year while visiting family in Colorado - it really brings to life how I feel when I design ~ I call it 'the calm before the storm'. Each piece I create has a bit of that serenity but also a raging passion to create something FABULOUS--with only some string, a hook and a dream! When I say, "I create to make you look great" I really mean it!
So, "work" - designing and creating isn't really work because I love the process so much - learning new things each time I pick up a hook and open an excel spreadsheet! It's frustrating at times but mostly exciting and so yes, 'Do what you love and never work a day in your life'. Even if you have a day job, find that thing you love and do it! We all need a happiness project!
